Subscribing to your RSS feed in more than one way is a good way to go so it covers everybody. Nobody should escape your marketing net as it concerns your RSS subscriptions. As far as making people more comfortable, think about email and your RSS subscription.
You should already have an email list or plan on having one, and you can merge them together in this way. So yes, taking your blog to the next level is all about understanding how you can serve your readers the best way.
