Dedication to my Goals Let me Succeed

By Jonathan Ross | July 31st, 2008

Many people think that success comes easy. I would have to disagree. For me, it didn’t come easy, but instead required a lot of work and dedication. Not only that, it took me almost seven years to get to the point where I felt that achieved what I set out to do.

Now, I am not trying to be somber, but it is the truth. For me, the road was seven years, with lots of challenges along the way. Though I am not at the point where I would finally like to be, I am getting really close. Each day I am getting closer to where I want to be and that is the right path for me.

It felt really hard to take a different path than everyone else. I had no magic instruction book on how to get to my dreams, or recipe on how to achieve success. Though I didn’t know how I was going to make it happen, I was dedicated to succeed and nothing was going to get in my way.

With my successes, I have had a lot of failures. But, I have always been dedicated to my dreams of having a nice house, money in the bank, and some nice cars in the garage. These were concrete and measurable goals to work towards, so I knew what steps I needed to take towards my dreams.

I had some challenges along the way. The biggest challenge of all was getting my wife to believe in the same dreams that I had. She couldn’t see how the business could be profitable as all she knew was that it was sucking money out of our bank account each month. She told me that I should just get a regular job just like everyone else.

If your spouse doesn’t support you, it can be an uphill battle. Thankfully, after I bought some groceries with the money that I made online, she quickly turned around – I guess all she needed was some physical proof that what we were doing was working.

From that point on, things got easier. Though I was not making a lot of money, I was making a larger profit each month. I continued to do the things that were making money and quit doing those things that were not. I was still dedicated to my dream and with each passing day, I was getting steps closer to living the life I had dreamed of.

Finally, six months ago, I was able to leave my real job and focus on the business. I finally felt free and like my dreams were within my grasp. Thankfully, being dedicated to my goals allowed me to get to this point. If you would like to succeed in life, be sure to be dedicated to your dreams and your time will come.
