The stress of a daily commute and working in a routine 9-5 job is affecting increasing numbers of people who are turning their hands at making money online as a means to escape this drudgery. AFFILIATE MARKETING, A GREAT WAY TO START

One of the most popular methods of making money online is by affiliate marketing where a person becomes an unpaid (commissions only) salesperson for a company, internet or otherwise and is paid for sales, or on occasion leads. Affiliates don’t have to endure the stresses and strains of running that company but still have the opportunity to earn a cut of it.

What must be done is to find a company that is serious about their affiliate program so it isn’t canceled after you have put effort into building a site and traffic etc.

The percentage of the revenue given to an affiliate can be anywhere from a few percent (avoid these unless turnover is high) up to as much as 75 percent. The benefit for the affiliate is that he or she can make money online without having a product of their own to sell.

GET PAID BY GOOGLE

The second main method of making money online is Google with their Adsense program, where adverts generated by them are placed on sites etc. and are keyword related to the content of that site. Although the Adsense account is free to join, only a small amount is paid by Google for each click that is made on these textual (usually) links they supply. This is the system described very simply but you need huge numbers of visitors to your site (probably a number of sites) to generate an income. While Google may not restrict who joins their program, they do make plenty of restrictions regarding the placing of adverts so keep abreast of their terms and conditions.

OBEY GOOGLE’S RULES

A small warning is worthwhile at this point as Google is very strict and will stop payment to anyone who breaches their terms and conditions so check them on a regular basis. There are many reasons why people desire to make money online; it maybe for earning extra income or just to making a living from working at home. Your success depends on some education in addition to other skills but if you do not get visitors to your site you cannot earn any money so do some studying on this subject for the many free online resources available to you.
