What You Need To Run A Successful Beauty Therapist Business From Home
By 1ClickProfitSt | September 29th, 2009With more and more people becoming unemployed currently, many are falling back on their skills and starting a business of their own from home. Having a beauty therapist business based from home has always been one of the most popular home-based business options and now more than ever people are putting their beauty skills to good use at home and sometimes making a whole lot of money. If you are new to running a beauty business from your spare room, here is some advice to help you on your way.
Building A Client Base. The number one hardest thing to do when you are working from home is creating contacts and getting a client base. If you have come from working for an organization you may have the luxury of being able to take a number of your clients with you who previously came in for treatments or for spa days. If you don’t have this luxury then you will likely have to spend a bit of time and money advertising and shouting your name from the rooftops. A great way to do this is go to a shopping centre put up some advertising and offer people a free massage or pedicure for example. Give them your business card and hopefully you will impress them so much they will come back for more.
Current Client Incentives. Tying in with the point raised above, a very good way to grow your client base is offer your current clients incentive to refer their friend and family. Give them a free treatment for everyone they refer or maybe some samples of skin care products.
Sell Skin Care Products. A great way to supplement your income is to sell skin care products to your clients. The best way to do this is sell the ones you actually use in your treatments as people will see how effective they are and want to use them all the time. You only need to place a small mark-up on the products if you buy in large enough volumes, and it can turn into quite a money earner.
