Net Blogs for Good Reading
By Mary R Stewart | November 23rd, 2008Traveling is my passion and collecting information on various topics is another. During my leisure time I visit different websites which give interesting information that add to my knowledge and where I can comment and exchange information with. Recently while net surfing I came across a very interesting website which gave quite a few blogs having correct and interesting information. There were wonders of the world along with scientific discoveries, history, geography, you name it and it was there.
Blog the Best begins by giving information of the seven wonders of the modern world selected through 90 million votes cast in 21 sites on the Internet. They include The Great Wall of China, Petra in Jordan, Statue of Christ in Brazil, Machu Picchu in Peru, Chichen Itza Pyramid, The Colosseum in Rome and the Taj Mahal in India. This Blog by Rosie includes the 7 wonders of the Ancient World, the 7 Wonders of Medieval Ages, 7 natural wonders selected by CNN, the 7 wonders of the Underwater World assembled by CEDAM International and the 7 wonders of the Industrial World featured by the BBC.
While going through the seven wonders, my mind went to the Colosseum in Rome where the ruins still stand in their glory. I imagined the Angel Falls with the water gushing down, white and frothy, with a lot of sound and cool sprays. I dreamt of climbing the Great Wall of China and walking on it. This is the only visible man made thing from the moon, I am told. Reading good blogs on a good website opens up the mind and explores new vistas.
A new scientific invention announced on a blog on this website talks of a shower which changes its color according to the temperature of the water flowing through it. Isn’t that great? Trust an interesting website like www.blogthebest.com to inform the readers of this new invention. It would be so convenient to use this item. There would be no need to test he water, nor any fear of it being too hot or too cold before starting it. One look at the shower and one will know if it is suitable or not. There are other blogs on effectiveness of houses, whether they would be whether conducive or not.
Did you know that a 2,500 years old Greek Ship has been discovered lying on the sea bed off the Sicilian coast Italy? Isn’t it amazing that the sea water has not spoilt this ship? That the artifacts can still be collected from this ship after all these years? It is certainly a well preserved wreck. Studies suggest that a storm might have created havoc and blown off this ship, tore a hole and sunk it to the bottom of the sea. What a pity! So many lives must have been lost.
We stay in five star hotels and grander hotels but one certainly wonders what it would be like to stay in an Ice Hotel. This is a real hotel built every year in the north of Sweden in the Arctic Circle. The architecture is wonderful, the blog says, and it is created out of the surrounding ice which naturally melts as the temperature rises. But in the heart of winter this Ice Hotel is available for people to stay and have a unique and cool experience.
Chickens are a delight to watch and eat. There are hundreds of recipes on cooking a chicken dish. But rarely does anyone give a thought to the lives of these poor chickens. Well, not everyone. There is one person who has managed to change the mindset of millions of people by his show, ‘Hugh’s Chicken Run’ on television. Television chef Hugh Fernlay-Whittingstall has convinced people on buying a certain type of eggs to improve the quality of the lives of chickens. And he has succeeded in hiking the sales of these eggs by 50 % by his clever sales talk and convincing abilities.
Such blogs on any website which can be read by anyone and everyone, and commented and discussed is bound to be a highly successful one. Why wait? Go and read this website.

There are plenty of good sites that provide good interesting information assuming you are interested in that subject. A few months back I found a site purely dedicated to growing a tropical look garden in the UK.
