Any job you have, even a job that you are very fond of, will have its awful days and responsibilities that will feel dreadful to you. But, if you can find a way to Love what you do for work, you will never work a day in your life. This is a very honest and terrific way to appropriate and to look at our work, but we dont always get to do what we delight in or work alongside joyful and pleasant people. So to get the best achievements out of your work and have a passion for it, your frame of mind cant be based upon the work itself or our own sentiments.
Work for the Lord you are devoted to, and you will be full of gratitude every day of your life. (Colossians 3:23) Work wholeheartedly and willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for humans. We would carry great wisdom with us, if we were to embrace a new way of looking at our work. Our work must mirror our status of being Gods children.
We get the most out of our work when we view ourselves as servants. Our modern day culture teaches us to seek power and respect for ourselves, instead of working diligently for those who are in authority over us. But Gods Word preaches a different principle: Servants, obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your reverent fear of the Lord (Colossians 3:22). Biblical obedience isnt just an outward show along with an inward grumbling and resentment, but a true commitment to the welfare of our employer. Though times have changed, this godly principle still applies to the world of today.
Gods children are commanded to be His servants. Since we spend an enormous amount of time at our work, much of our accountability of service will be done there. As employees, we are to apply the biblical principles of obedience and sacrifice, because it does not matter who our human boss might be, God is the ultimate authority that is governing our actions. He wants to see us practicing righteousness and diligence at work.
If you are blessed by God with the opportunity of owning a work at home business, which I highly urge most everyone to have as an important goal, you better take great care of it and work it with great diligence, or your ultimate supremacy (boss) will take it away from you. In regards to operating a Christian Home Business, in which YOU are now given the title of boss, please remember that you will always still have a boss that is in charge of you – and that is our Lord. I highly recommend that everyone do a research on the idea of owning a home based business for themselves, just to see if it could be a great decision for your financial situation.
It doesnt matter if you are working for someone as an employee, or if you are fortunate enough to have a home based business, you must always remember that God didnt create us to be ordinary or average at anything we do in life. We are called by God to be people of exceptional quality, and He doesnt want us to do just enough to get by in life. He expects us to be honorably noticed in the crowd, and to be people of high character and integrity.
The only way that we can actually be content in our life and work, is to be exactly who we have been planned to be, and that is people of distinction and integrity. If there is any evidence of compromise in the essence of our work, we could easily miss out on what could have been our grandest accomplishments or our largest triumphs in our life.
You must remember to never allow mediocrity or middle of the road to be a part of your life or work, as you could quite possibly be missing out on some wonderfully awesome blessings in your life. God doesnt bless average or middle of the road, but he does bless excellence and integrity! If we work with this measurement of excellence in our daily and constant thoughts, God promises to reward and take care of us! If you desire the highest and best results for your life, then you must start shooting for nothing but high excellence and integrity in your life now. You can easily start by always doing just a little bit more than you are expected or are presumed to do in all aspects of your life. It is this little bit more that will be the factor for your life being a life of just commonplace and boring, or a life of great excellence, adventure and grand achievements.
